""No further filming to take place this season"
Alex Barnes & his team at AB Videography have made the difficult decision to stop filming of this season's HDARA regattas. It will be the first time since Southsea regatta in 2014 that Alex or a member of his team has not filmed a HDARA championship regatta.
The majority of the problems have been caused by Alex trying to concentrate on his racing in 2018 (which means that one victory is looking a bit expensive) and he expects that he will be able to solve them in time for 2019 when he retakes a leading role. HOWEVER, a decision will be made by Alex in the new year as to whether any filming will take place in 2019.
Alex's cameraman for this season has not worked out - which has ultimately left him short for Southsea (other staff are on holiday, competing elsewhere and one is currently too sick to be considered) so Alex cannot film for 6 hours unassisted.
Lymington ARC are not attending Newport Fours regatta and Alex no longer has the South Coast Journalism contract with Red Funnel to cover the travel expenses, making the first day too costly. Unfortunately Alex is short staffed again for Bournemouth regatta at the end of the season, partly because he told his team they had the weekend off without waiting to see if it would be reinstated.
Alex and his team apologise to anyone who is disappointed or inconvenienced with this decision and would like to thank everyone who has continued to support them, especially Neaves Rowing Services for their sponsorship in 2017 & 2018."
