Good News update on Robert Hall.
A note from Jeff Watling -
You will recall that Robert collapsed immediately after finishing the Head of the Stour, was resuscitated at the scene and admitted to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
I am pleased to inform you that Robert has now been out of hospital for over two weeks. He has an indwelling device to improve the conduction in his heart but the pump itself is fine. After a shaky start at home, he is now well, getting stronger and walking normally but not yet up to a full dog walking distance. He has completed three Bike-Erg sessions and is planning to get back on the Row-Erg as soon as given the “all clear,” by the hospital. He has a plan to get back on the water at Guildford by September, when he will also be allowed to drive. Fareham, our other normal venue, is probably a nonstarter as it is so isolated in winter. It is too early to say whether racing is a possibility. Time will tell.
Robert is eternally grateful for the help, good wishes and support he has received from members of Hants and Dorset Clubs. Hopefully, we will see you on the water in 2024.
Good racing in 2023
Jeff
