Swanage Video.

Alex Barnes (Lymington ARC) has published a feature video about Swanage regatta. The feature is an experimental video and was designed to be viewable by rowers and non-rowers alike, as well as showcasing the HDARA in a positive light.

The video is presented by Talia Jones and features all five senior finals in their entirety. The video also includes interviews with Tim Bull (Swanage Entries Secretary), Pete Jacobs (Poole ARC) and John Purkess (starting umpire, BTC). On top of that, the video includes basic information about the course (for anyone new to coastal rowing), clips of three close finals (men's junior fours final, women's novice & junior sculls) and a full round up of the day's results using footage from prize-giving. There is also a short montage of AB Videography's best footage from the day at the very end.

The original plan was for Talia's presenting to be filmed at Swanage itself but this was scrapped due to the weather forecast. Therefore, the presenting was filmed at Lymington as this was the only practical option left available to Alex at short notice.

Swanage Regatta (Saturday, 15th June) is on!

We have been monitoring the condition at Swanage over the last few days and pleased to be able to advise you all that the Regatta Course was row able today at midday - calm in the bay - a little rougher but row able by the turns - and with similar conditions predicted for tomorrow we have taken the decision to go ahead with the Regatta tomorrow . There is a possibility if condition deteriorate slightly we may choose to shorten the course - and some Novice/Junior (age) event may be at risk. It will however be wet - especially in the morning!

Swanage Regatta. Trailer Parking.

Please note that Swanage Town Council, while approving the free parking of the trailers in the North Beach Cap Park - have decided, this year, that Clubs MUST PAY the parking fee for their Towing Vehicles.

The Permit for the trailers will be handed out - from Regatta Control - when you unload your boats.
