A feature length video about Swanage Regatta.

After speaking with the association, Alex Barnes (Lymington ARC) will be filming a feature length video about Swanage Regatta. The current plan is to feature all the senior categories in their entirety, highlight any close or exciting races and do a general round up of the day's results (much like an extended version of the old highlights videos).

He is also in the process of setting up interviews for the day and the overall aim is to showcase the association in a positive light. If any club has any news or something to promote that is relevant to the regatta, and wishes for Alex to include it in the video, please contact him as soon as possible. This is open to every club.

Alex will have cameras on site all day and will have race footage of every adult category, including the heats, available to order.

At the moment, he does not have sufficient parental consent to film the J16 races and those races are not scheduled to be filmed. If a club has J16 crews and already has photo/video consent in place, please contact him if you would like that crew to be filmed. Alex also has consent forms that can be filled out as well if needs be.

The finished video will be available to watch on his website in the following days. It will be published as an 'unlisted' video on YouTube with the link published in Alex's portfolio section.

Swanage Regatta. Saturday 15th June. Important Notices.

Club briefing.

The Club briefing will take place by the Control Tent, near the start at approximately 9.45am.

Trailer Parking Permit’s for the North Beach Car Park.

These may have been sent to the address on the entry form with a draft copy of the program and a note ref. a change to trailer entry to shore road and the conditions attached.

Unfortunately they may not arrive from Swanage Town Council in time to be sent out with the posting of the hard copy of the Regatta Program to the Clubs. If this is the case please collect you parking permit for your Boat trailer and Towing vehicle from Regatta Control – or the Team manning the gate on Shore Road when you unload your trailer. This also applies to those bringing round safety boats by road.

THE CONDITIONS MUST BE COMPLIED WITH OR ENTRY MAY BE REFUSED.

Southampton R. C. will be manning the gate – marshalling the trailers.

NOTE: Gazebos, Tents, Event Shelters.

We have restricted beach space available - only between the Tourist Information Office and the Mowlem. All Clubs boats must be accommodated between these 2 points – so do not be greedy and – No Large Gazebos. Please leave your Large Club Gazebos at home. Maximum size of Gazebos allowed – one per club – 5m x 5m.

Litter. We had complaints last year regarding litter left after the Regatta. Please ensure you clear your area before you leave. Rubbish bags will be handed out and available at Regatta control.

Southsea R. C. will be “policing” the litter clear-up and will do a final sweep – but it is not fair to leave this to them – it is a Club responsibility.

Regatta Timing. The event ran well behind schedule last year – and finished very late. We MUST improve on this – please do everything you can to minimise delays during the regatta and cooperate with race officials and marshals and help each other!

Steve Bull.

H&DARA Secretary

Swanage Regatta coordinator.
