SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018 INFORMATION PACK.

The 2018 SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION PACK has now been received from the organisors Deal R. C./CARA. This should have been sent directly to all Clubs and H&D racing Officials. The Association has sent round for four pdf documents - the Safety Plan, event list, draw and Championship schelue - by E Mail to Clubs and H&DARA Excutiver Officer, SCC Deleagtes and SCC race Officials - to ensure all have received a copy.

You can also download these four documents in pdf format from the H&D ARA Web site at www.hdara.co.uk - go to the SCC Tab and scroll down to SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018 INFORMATION PACK or the Calender on the home page where they can be dowloaded from its calender entry.

The "Daily Echo Trophy" in Memory of Arthur Chatfield.

The "Daily Echo Trophy" was presented to the Association in memory of the late Arthur Chatfield and is awarded annually, at the Presentation Dinner, by the Association, to an individual for Services to the Association and to Coastal Rowing.

It was agreed that Clubs would be asked to nominate candidates   for the award and that the Association's Executive Officers would make a final decision on who should receive the Trophy from those nominated. Nominations do not have to be, and arguably should  not be, from your own Club. It should be noted that the award is   for services to the Association and Coastal Rowing - and while    there are many deserving Club members who have made a significant contribution to their own Clubs - with this award we   seek to recognize significant contributions to our Association and    to Coastal Rowing.

Could your Club, therefore, please give consideration to who you may wish to nominate for this Trophy and send the nomination to me at 10, Brookfield Gardens, Binstead, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 3NP or by E Mail me at stephencbull@googlemail.com by the 6^th October, 2018.

Update on 2018 South Coast Championship Regatta. Saturday 8th September, 2018. Deal.

Your Executive Officers and South Coast Council Delegates had been growing slightly concerned about the lack of information regarding this years South Coast Championship Regatta - which is now less than two weeks away​ - on Saturday, 8th September at Deal. 

We have been seeking additional information from the organisers and have been advised that - 

They are finalising the information packs..

The race officials  and water safety / inspection team will also receive the same information when we send it through this week both electronic(Thursday evening) and hard copy(Friday Post).

The Draw has been completed for the Open and Junior events and will be included with the order of events.

The championship weekend schedule will be included and will cover the times and locations for the Championship draw on Friday, Regatta day activities inc. for the safety briefing and officials briefing

instructions for trailer and official parking.

Invitations to the draw will all be included and posted to other PP as well on the Friday. 

There will be a map that shows the relevant locations for each alternate course also.

Trailer Parking will be at the clubhouse from 06.00 as previously communicated to SCCRC on Regatta day. Clubs may be able to park outside the club Friday if space is available but as we don't have the road closure until Saturday we can't guarantee this and clubs do so in accordance with highway regulation at their own risk.

​So you should receive all the relevant information both electronically and in hard copy format by the weekend. Once received I will forward to all Clubs and race Officials again just to make sure everyone is covered - and I will put as much of the information as I can ​on the SCC pages of the H&DARA Web site - http://coastalrowing.squarespace.com/scc-home/

We have yet to receive confirmation from CARA and WEARA regarding the take-up of their Championship slots so are still not able to confirm any additional entries in the Championship events that may be available!
